PUBLIC NOTICE

The Board of Supervisors of Salem Township is soliciting bids for the milling and paving of various roads within the Township using approximately 465 Tons of Superpave 9.5mm Fine Graded Leveling Course 930 Tons of Superpave 9.5mm Wearing Course and 745 Tons of Superpave 19mm Binder Course. The roadways to be milled and the precise types and amounts of materials to be used are set forth in the bid documents. Most of the roads are located in the Forbes Road area of the Township. The materials are being purchased through a separate municipal procurement contract. The Bidder will be required to pick up the materials at their production plant transport and install those materials in place. All bids must be submitted on a Bid Form supplied by the Township. The bid amount must include all labor and equipment necessary to carry out the work set forth in the bid documents. Prevailing wage rates will apply. Liquidated damages at a rate of $870.00 per calendar day will also apply. Material amounts are estimates and may require more or less material to complete each roadway. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “SALEM TOWNSHIP 2025 PAVING BID” and be delivered to and received by the Secretary of the Township at 244 Congruity Road Greensburg PA 15601 on or before 8:30 A.M. on July 15 2025. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond equal to 10% of the amount bid. Bids will be opened at 9:00 A.M. on July 15 2025 in the Salem Township Municipal Building at 244 Congruity Road Greensburg Pa. 15601 and held for review at that time. Bids will be considered for award at the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors to be held on Wednesday July 16 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Salem Township Municipal Building 244 Congruity Road Greensburg PA 15601. The successful bidder will be required to sign a contract containing customary municipal terms conditions and bonding requirements to carry out the work. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject all or any portions of the bids received and may at their discretion eliminate some or all of the roadways from consideration. Bid documents may be picked up at the Salem Township Municipal Building 244 Congruity Rd Greensburg PA 15601 by calling the Secretary of Salem Township  at  724-668-7500  or  by  sending a  request  by  email  to:
