MEETING NOTICE
Take notice of the intent of Irwin Borough Council to act upon an ordinance at a regular meeting scheduled for July 9 2025 at 6 PM at Council Chambers 1 First Street Irwin PA 15642 entitled and summarized as follows:
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE INDEBTEDNESS OF THE BOROUGH OF IRWIN WESTMORELAND COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA BY THE ISSUE OF A GENERAL OBLIGATION NOTE IN THE AMOUNT OF $350000 FOR SUNDRY PURPOSES; FIXING THE FORM NUMBER DATE INTEREST AND MATURITY THEREOF; MAKING A COVENANT FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE DEBT SERVICE ON THE NOTE; PROVIDING FOR THE FILING OF THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A SINKING FUND DEPOSITORY FOR THE NOTE; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION SALE AND DELIVERY THEREOF.
The proposed ordinance would authorize the issuance of an awarding of its $350000 principal amount general obligation note at a private sale. The proposed ordinance will award the note to the purchaser thereof approve the form of the note fix the term and the rate of interest to be paid pledge the full faith and credit of the local government unit for the payment thereof create a sinking fund and authorize the proper officers to take the necessary steps to issue the note. The funds to be obtained from the borrowing will be used for the purpose of financing capital improvements.
True and correct copies of the proposed ordinance are available for inspection or copying at the Irwin Borough Offices 424 Main Street Irwin PA 15642 during the hours of 7:30AM to 4PM Monday through Friday. Copies are also available at the Westmoreland County Law Library 2 N. Main St. Suite #202 Greensburg PA 15601 from 8:30AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.
