ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 

Sealed bids will be received at the office of the New Alexandria Borough Engineer, Bove Engineering Company, 8201 Route 819, Greensburg, PA 15601 until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at a council meeting starting at 6:00 p.m. that evening at the New Alexandria Borough Building & Community Center located at 207 West Main Street, New Alexandria, PA 15670. Envelopes containing bids must be designated “New Alexandria Borough 2025 Street Improvement Project” using LSA Grant, Liquid Fuel, and Borough Funds, including:

5,135 SY Milling ±3½” – 4½” Depth; 250 SY Soft Area Treatment (Stone Base); 500 SY Soft Area Repair (25 mm Binder); 715 TN 19 mm Binder Course; 450 TN 1½” 9.5 mm Wearing Course; Grass Restoration; and other specified work – all quantities approximate.

Contract documents may be obtained from the Borough Engineer at Bove Engineering Company, 8201 Route 819, Greensburg, Pennsylvania 15601 (Telephone: 724-925-9269) upon payment of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars per set of plans and specifications, plus $20.00 postage & handling, if mailed.

Bids must be accompanied by satisfactory security executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of 10% of the bid made payable to "New Alexandria Borough."

Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, eliminate work items, reduce or increase item quantities up to 25%, or to reject any or all bids. Proposals must be upon the form provided. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the opening thereof.

Contractor is to comply with the provisions of applicable Federal and State Statutes and regulations including but not limited to; Nondiscrimination/Sexual Harassment; Contractor Integrity and Responsibility; the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Drug-Free Workplace Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, Right to Know, Worker Safety, Public Works Employment, and other applicable regulations.

This project is financed by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority. PA Prevailing Wage Rates and other requirements apply and are included in the bid documents.
