NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION

48” Indian Creek River Crossing
The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County has applied to EPA for a financial assistance grant through the Community Grant Program for a project known as the 48” Indian Creek River Crossing. The project includes the installation of approximately 1100 l.f. of ductile iron pipe and appurtenances to convey potable water produced at the Indian Creek Water Treatment Plant. This project will enhance flow capacity and provide needed system redundancy. This project will enhance system capabilities by providing drinking water and fire protection for up to 133000 residents in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.
This notice announces the request by the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County for a Categorical Exclusion for this project. The basis for the categorical exclusion is that the project is consistent with the categories eligible for exclusion from National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review identified in 6.107(d) or 6.505(b) and is not inconsistent with the criteria in 6.107(e) or 6.505(c).
This notice announces the availability of this Categorical Exclusion for public review and comment.
There is no impact on user fees related to this project.
Any person interested in commenting on the proposed project should submit written comments to the address below within 30 days of this publication.
