NPDES RENEWAL

 

Pursuant to the “Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Heidelberg Materials Northeast LLC, doing business at 2200 Springfield Pike, Connellsville, PA 15425, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to renew the existing NPDES Permit No. PA 0588075, that is associated with the Springfield Pike Quarry (SMP 26840402). The site is located in Connellsville and Springfield Townships, Fayette County. The surface permit area is 234.7 acres, and is located along the south side of SR-711 just east of McCoy Hollow Road (TR-679), approximately 1 mile east of Connellsville. The receiving streams for the permit area are unnamed tributaries to Connell Run (WWF) and Connell Run (WWF). The Connellsville U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map contains the area described.

 

A copy of this application is available for public inspection at the Connellsville Township Municipal Building, 166 McCoy Hollow Road, Connellsville, PA 15425 and Springfield Township Municipal Building, 755 Mill Run Road, Mill Run, PA 15464. Written comments, objections, or requests for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the DEP, New Stanton District Office, 131 Broadview Road, New Stanton, PA 15672, within thirty days from the date of the final (4th) publication of this notice and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the comment(s).
