MEETING NOTICE
Fawn Township will conduct a public hearing on an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FAWN TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE REGULATING THE LOCATION, STANDARDS, REQUIREMENTS, AND PROCEDURES FOR THE USE OF SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS.” A summary of the Ordinance is as follows:
Section 1: Provides definitions for the amendment.
Section 2: Provides that Accessory Solar Energy Systems (ASES) are conditional uses as accessory uses in all Zoning Districts and outlines the regulations for the conditional use.
Section 3: Provides Regulations for Principal Solar Energy Systems (PSES), including the following:
1. PSES are conditional uses only allowed in the I and IP Zoning Districts; and
2. Requires a list of conditions to be met prior to a grant of zoning approval.
Section 4: Provides for additional setback and safety requirements.
Section 5: Provides firefighter considerations and fire safety.
Section 6: Provides for administration and enforcement of the Ordinance.
Section 7: Provides for severability of the Ordinance.
Section 8: Provides the effective date.
The hearing will be held at the Fawn Township Municipal Building, located at 3054 Howes Run Road, Tarentum, PA 15084 on December 16, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. All those who wish to be heard in regard to the Ordinance amendment should be present at the time and date specified.
Copies of the proposed Ordinance amendment can be viewed at the Fawn Township Building during normal business hours or by contacting the Township Secretary at 724-226-0666 ext. 4, at the local newspaper, or the Allegheny County Law Library.
