MEETING NOTICE Fawn Township

MEETING NOTICE

 

 

Fawn Township will conduct a public hearing on an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FAWN TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE REGULATING THE LOCATION, STANDARDS, REQUIREMENTS, AND PROCEDURES FOR HANDLING UNSPECIFIED USES”. A summary of the Ordinance is as follows:

 

Section 1: Describes the purpose of the Ordinance to provide a system to provide classification to proposed uses within the municipality that are not specifically listed in the Zoning Ordinance.

 

Section 2: Describes the legislative intent of the Ordinance amendment.

 

Section 3: Provides definitions for the amendment.

 

Section 4: Provides general provisions for the Ordinance including the following:

 

· Zoning Officer reviews requests for unspecified uses

· Application process to Zoning Officer

 

Section 5: Provides criteria for review, including the following:

 

1. Proposed use shall be reviewed for compatibility with other uses in the proposed Zoning District;

2. Provides for a use regulation form for the review;

3. Outlines criteria to determine whether a use is similar to another listed use; and

4. Disallows similar uses for prohibited uses in the Zoning District.

 

Section 6: Provides procedures for what application to submit once the similar use determination is completed.

 

Section 7: Excludes uses that are prohibited in the Zoning Ordinance.

 

Section 8: Provides for amendments to the Ordinance, if necessary.

 

The hearing will be held at the Fawn Township Municipal Building, located at 3054 Howes Run Road, Tarentum, PA 15084 on December 16, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. All those who wish to be heard in regard to the Ordinance amendment should be present at the time and date specified.

 

Copies of the proposed Ordinance amendment can be viewed at the Fawn Township Building during normal business hours or by contacting the Township Secretary at 724-226-0666 ext. 4, at the local newspaper, or the Allegheny County Law Library.
