ACID MINE DRAINAGE
(AMD) REMEDIATION
Sealed proposals for the White Valley (Active Treatment Plant) will be received by Murrysville Area Watershed Association (MAWA) until 4:00 pm on Friday May 15 2026 via the email below and at their offices located at 2500 Eldo Road Ste. 1 Monroeville PA 15146.
The work to be proposed is described as follows:
Technical development and professional services for design of an active acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment system capable of treating mine-impacted water from the preSurface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA) Export #1 Export #2 and Delmont Mines all located in Westmoreland County PA. These mines are classified as Abandoned Mine Lands (AML).
Prospective firms are advised that the contract awarded under this project is to be funded in whole or in part by the Murrysville Area Watershed Association and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) Bureau of Abandoned Mine Lands and
Reclamation (BAMR) AML/AMD Grant Program.
An optional project meeting will be held Wednesday April 15 at 11:00 am via Zoom. Please contact MAWA by emailing mchurch@themawa.org for meeting details a copy of the Request for Proposals document or to submit a proposal.
MAWA reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. Proposals received after the scheduled closing time for reception of proposals will not be considered.
