ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 

Sealed bids will be received by Avonmore Borough 437 Westmoreland Avenue, P.O. Box 554, Avonmore, PA 15618, until 12:00 noon Monday, June 1, 2026, to be opened and read aloud during public meeting starting 7:00 p.m. at Avonmore Civic Center, 458 Railroad Avenue. For hand delivery call the Borough office at 724-697-4415 prior to delivery. Envelopes containing bids must be designated “Sealed Bid: Avonmore 2026 DGLV Road Project.” Work items as follows:

 

15” HDPP Storm Pipe 80 LF; HDPE Flared End Sections 4 EA; 2A Coarse Aggregate Road Fill & Grade Breaks 536 TN; R-4 Rock Lined Ditch 180 TN; R-5 Rock Outlets 68 TN; Grass Lined Ditch 150 LF; 8” Compost Filter Sock 280 LF; Grass Seed and Mulch 230 SY; and other specified work — all quantities are approximate.

 

Contract documents must be obtained from the Borough Engineer, Lucien Bove, PE, Bove Engineering Company, 8201 Route 819, Greensburg, PA 15601 (Telephone: 724-925-9269) upon payment of $50.00 per each set of bid documents, plus $20.00 postage & handling, if mailed.

 

Bid must be accompanied by satisfactory bid security executed by bidder and acceptable surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania in the amount of 10% of the bid payable to "Avonmore Borough."

 

Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, eliminate work items, reduce item quantities as specified in the bid proposal, or reject any or all bids. Proposals must be upon the forms provided. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days after the opening thereof.

 

This project is funded in part by a grant from the Westmoreland Conservation District through the State Conservation Commission. Pa. Prevailing Wages Rates apply. Wage rate determination and forms are included in the bid package.
