NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE UNOPEN PORTION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY AT INDIANA AVENUE EXTENSION WEST
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Avonmore Westmoreland County Pennsylvania will hold a public hearing on June 1 2026 at 6:30 P.M. at the Avonmore Civic Center located at 458 Railroad Avenue Avonmore PA 15618. The purpose of the hearing is to consider vacating the unopen portion of a 65-foot-wide right-of-way along properties located at 127 & 129 West Indiana Avenue Extension as described in the petition submitted by Bernard & Denise Sharek and Timothy & Lisa Sharek owners of the abutting properties.
PROPERTY AFFECTED: The portion of the right-of-way proposed to be vacated is approximately 950 feet in length starting 1000 feet from the end of the asphalt pavement on Indiana Avenue west of First Street. A map showing the portion of the right-of-way to be vacated is available for public inspection at the Avonmore Borough Building during regular business hours.
RIGHT TO APPEAR: All interested parties and citizens are invited to attend the public hearing and be heard regarding the proposed vacation. If an ordinance is to be adopted the public right-of-way will be terminated. Abutting property owners may take title to the center line of the vacated street subject to existing private rights and potential public utility easements.
