PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT

 

Separate and sealed bid proposals will be received by Hempfield Township Westmoreland County Pennsylvania at the Hempfield Township Municipal Building located at 1132 Woodward Drive Greensburg PA 15601 until 9:00 a.m. prevailing time on June 10 2026 at which time they will be opened and publicly read for the following projects:

 

2026 Shot and Chip/Microsurfacing Program

Contract 3/2026

 

Line Paintings and Markings

Contract 4/2026

 

Contract 3/2026 - The work will consist of the Contractor installing approximately 35952 s.y. of a single shot and seal application and 40261 s.y. of Microsurfacing (Includes a single shot and chip application) and 2480 s.y. of cape seal on various roads throughout the township.  Notice is hereby given that the bituminous price index in accordance with PennDOT Publication 408 is applicable and in effect.

 

Contract 4/2026 - The work will consist of the Contractor painting approximately 48057 linear feet of double yellow traffic lines 15115 l.f. of single white/yellow lines markings for approximately 12 traffic light intersections and 2 railroad crossings in Hempfield Township.

 

The Contractor is advised that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage requirements will not be required since this project is considered to be maintenance.

 

Copies of the Contract Documents and Plans may be obtained at the office of the HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS 1132 Woodward Drive Greensburg PA 15601 Telephone:  724-834-7232 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $75.00 for each Contract plus an additional charge if mailed.

 

A certified check payable to the Hempfield Township Supervisors or a bid bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by the Owner in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid to guarantee the Bidders entrance into a Contract if given the award.  No Bid Bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the plans specifications or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any applicable municipal ordinances.

 

All contractors must adhere to Act 127 of 2012 (Public Works Employment Verification Act).

 

Hempfield Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in bids received.  No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening.
