Notice to Bidders –

Waste Hauling Service

 

Sewickley Township in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, is seeking bids for the collection and disposal of residential solid waste, door-to-door E-Waste, and hazardous waste collection. Interested bidders must submit the three-year bid, with a fourth and fifth optional year at the discretion of Sewickley Township, on forms furnished by the Township. The three-year period shall run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029.

Bid specifications shall be made available beginning on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Sewickley Township Municipal Building, 2288 Mars Hill Road, Irwin, PA 15642, between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Sealed proposals will be received by the Township of Sewickley, Westmoreland County, until 12:00pm prevailing time on Monday, June 15, 2026. No bids will be received after this time. Sealed bids will be opened and reviewed at that same date and time. The contract will be awarded at the Board of Supervisors meeting held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 5:00 pm.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or surety bid bond as set forth in the bid documents and made payable to Sewickley Township. Contractor will be responsible for garbage and recycling collection beginning on January 1, 2027.

A pre-bid meeting to review the bid specifications is possible by contacting the Township Manager at 724.446.7202 between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Bidders will be asked to bid on the following options for collection and removal, as follows:

1. Weekly collection of all items on different days throughout the Township for Limited manual collection, with E-Waste and Hazardous Household Waste.

2. Weekly collection of all items on different days throughout the Township for Low Volume manual collection, with E-Waste and     Hazardous Household Waste.

Sewickley Township reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive any informalities, irregularities, defects, errors, or omissions in any or all proposals deemed in the best interest of     Sewickley Township.
